Bereishis - Chambers & Buildings

The word בראשית (in the beginning) can be understood as ברא שית (He created six). This refers to the six chambers of tears that can only be opened with tears. There are other chambers that can only be opened with song, as we find King David playing music for King Saul. And there are other chambers of light that cannot be opened by anyone unless they are wise, strong or wealthy. There is a chamber of awe that can only be opened by one who has awe, and one for the the poor that only openes for the poor who are wrapped in Tallis and Tefillin.          Tikunei Zohar There are three things that a person needs to do in proper order, to build a house, to plant a vineyard for income and then to marry a wife. We learn this from Hashem. He first built a house and prepared food and then He invited Adam and his wife.           Zohar

V'Zos HaBeracha: Kiruv Rechokim

ברוך אתה בבואך ברוך אתה בצאתך Blessed are you when you arrive, blessed are you when you depart Rebbe Yehuda ben Simon said: This verse is referring to Moshe. When Moshe arrived (i.e. was born) he brought close someone who was distant, namely Bitya, the daughter of Paroh. When he departed from the world he brought close Reuven as it says, "Reuven should live, and not die."

V'Zos HaBracha: For whom is the Torah?

Rabbi Yose says: Hashem says, I did not initially give the Torah in a gloomy land, in a hidden place or in darkness. Rather I gave it in the desert, a place that is available to all. Had the Torah been given in the Land of Israel they would have told the other nations that they had no part in Torah, therefore it was given in the desert in a very public manner, so as to say that all who wish to accept should come and accept. Don't think that it was given at night, for it says, "On the third day in the morning," nor was it given quietly as it says that there were sounds and lightening. Don't think that the sound went unheard as it says that, "The voice of God is powerful." Balaam said to all those near him that God i giving strength to his people. "I did not say to the descendants of Jacob to you I am giving it and not the nations, I came to Sinai but I also appeared in Seir."
